1) Miller, Arthur. The Crucible. New York , N.Y: Penguin Books, 1996. Print.
I chose the book, “The Crucible” as my primary source because it is the only novel that I could think of with witchcraft in it. I think I will use a lot of in-text citations in this book to help me with this essay because it has many interesting points throughout the novel. I have read this book in the past and that is part of the reason why I chose it to by my primary source.
2) Schwartz, Marci. "Witches." Washington State University - Pullman , Washington . Web. 02 Nov. 2011. <http://public.wsu.edu/~delahoyd/witch.comment2.html>.
I think this piece will help me a little bit throughout my paper because it has some history about witches. It explains what witches represented back then and what people think of them now. This piece isn’t very long but it includes lots of information that will help tremendously with my essay.
3)Wilson, Katharina M., and Nadia Margolis. "Yavapai College Library." Credo Reference Home. Web. 02 Nov. 2011. <http://www.credoreference.com/entry/abcwma/witches>.
I liked this library database because it included tons and tons of information on different kinds of witchcraft. I doubt that I will read through the whole thing because it has so much in the article. I can tell you that I will use a lot of information that is in this article to help me support my thesis.
4)Knight, Peter. "Yavapai College Library." Credo Reference Home. Web. 02 Nov. 2011. <http://www.credoreference.com/entry/abcconspir/salem_witch_trials>.
This library database will have much to do with my essay just because it talks about the Salem Witch Trials. My primary source, “The Crucible”, takes place in the town of Salem so it works out really well. This source also has a lot of information that is very important to get research from.
5) "Evil." Macmillan Dictionary of the Bible. London : Collins, 2002. Credo Reference. Web. 02 November 2011.
This library database was a little interesting because it had to do with the Bible. It is a very short source to use but I will get what I need out of this piece. It talks about God’s punishments upon human beings. It also talks about how evil is related to the freedom to choose between right and wrong.

You have a lot of good sources. I like the route you are taking to write your essay. You have a lot of evidence to go off of. Your essay should be put together very well, so good luck on your essay.
ReplyDeleteWitchcraft should be a very interesting topic to research and write about! I think the notions of "witchcraft" has drastically changed throughout time. I would find it hard to stay on topic with how broad your initial topic is. You did a great job selecting sources that will benefit your cause. I'm thinking staying on topic won't be quite a challenge for you! Good luck, I hope I have the opportunity to read your final product!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Amelia! I look forward to reading your paper. Witchcraft is a great topic.
